Monday the 8th of May 2023 will be an additional bank holiday which has been approved at a meeting of the Council’s Corporate Resources Committee. The new bank holiday is to honour the coronation of His Majesty King Charles and will fall on Monday 8 May, following the Coronation on Saturday 6 May.
This bank holiday has also been endoresed/approved by the Scottish Government and other countries in the UK to mark the celebration of His Majesty’s Coronation.
Minimal service provision will be in place on the 8th of May regarding emergency & essential services, whilst council offices/schools will be closed.
